Recycle your glass & metal in St. Tammany Parish with Lemon Tree Recycling.

Glass isn't accepted in standard Parish recycling bins. Without a separate pickup, every bottle and jar you set out goes straight to the landfill — and it doesn't break down once it's there. Not for lack of caring. Just for lack of a way.

Lemon Tree is that way. We're Lacy and Andrew Ellzey, a mom-and-son team picking up curbside glass and metal across St. Tammany Parish since 2020.

Lemon Tree has diverted 34.8 tons of glass and metal from the landfill so far this year across St. Tammany Parish — including a spike in April thanks to glass drop-off events with Keep Mandeville Beautiful and Keep Abita Beautiful. Glass collected through Lemon Tree is processed right here in Louisiana — every pound is a pound that stays out of the landfill and goes toward rebuilding the coast.

Beyond curbside pickup, we run a monthly Donation Drive, host community and private drop-off events, and partner directly with bars, restaurants, and local wine shops across the parish.

Donation Drive.

Since the beginning of 2026, we've also run a monthly Donation Drive. Each month we partner with a different St. Tammany nonprofit — from Safe Harbor to the NorthShore Food Bank — collecting specific items they've requested, like household goods, books, or canned food. Just set your donation out alongside your recycling bin on pickup day; no extra stop, no separate drop-off. This year's full calendar, with what each organization needs are listed below.

We recommend contacting each charity to learn more about them and feel free to ask if there are other items they accept that we have not listed. Leave your donation out with your recycling and we will pick them up.
