Most glass in St. Tammany is still thrown away because recycling options have been limited.

Everything in this bag started as something someone would otherwise throw away.

Instead, bottles and jars collected from homes across the Northshore were recycled into the glass sand you're holding today.

A small reminder that the landfill doesn't have to be the end of this story.

What Is Lemon Tree?

Lemon Tree started as a way for neighbors to keep glass out of the trash and show what a local recycling system could look like.

Today we provide recycling services to hundreds of St. Tammany residents all throughout the parish.

Why This Bag Exists

The glass sand you're holding was once bottles and jars collected from homes and businesses across the Northshore.

It's simply a conversation starter—a small reminder that what we throw away can become something useful, and that small actions can spread from one person to another.
